Speaking just for myself, because I have mentioned this before in reaction to a different vote proposal … advancement through patch iterations should not be controlled by a TIME duration, but by a POPULATION increase (of characters who have reached max level).
That way the “gating” of advancement isn’t controlled by a ticking clock, but by “how fast” the community comes together en mass with sufficient population to justify unlocking the next link in the chain, in terms of minimum timing.
You can still keep a ticking clock “set time” as the Maximum Delay between intervals of patch advancement … but use a “population count” of Current Max Level Characters as the Minimum Delay between intervals of patch advancement.
That way, if there’s LOTS of Players leveling LOTS of characters up to the level cap, the delay between patch increments goes down/gets shorter. But if there are relatively FEW Players leveling SINGLE mains on their accounts up to the level cap, the delay between patch increments goes up/gets longer … so as to give newcomers more time to “catch up” and join the front liners at the level cap.
