From the Council:
Reducing or capping, or even eliminating the cost to Reset Talents. If this is a small community game, being able to swap into other talents without creating a gold-sink will keep end game content open to flexibility. When I played Vanilla, I had to level 2 or more characters of the same class to avoid having to spend hundreds of gold just to swap roles.
May I offer an alternative take on this idea? ![]()
Would it be possible to implement something akin to doing this for Talent Resets?
- Level 10-39 = no cost
- Level 40-44 = 1g per Reset
- Level 45-49 = 2g per Reset
- Level 50-54 = 3g per Reset
- Level 55-59 = 4g per Reset
- Level 60 = 5g per Reset
This retains the “friction factor” of resetting Talents at high levels, but it doesn’t rise to such an “egregious” level that becomes overly onerous to make use of.
The idea with making Levels 1-39 no cost to reset Talents is to prevent “loss of funds pre-mount acquisition” and to give Players TIME to try out a variety of build choices and discover for themselves what they enjoy playing most before they leave the World of Walking for the transition into Mounted Travel.
If you can afford to obtain a mount (because you’re Level 40+), you can afford to pay for your Talent Reset(s).
